Kilcullen Under 16s qualified for the semi-final of the championship after a comprehensive win over Sallins. The young Rags got the opening goal of the game, but the match was very even for most of the half. The sides were level at 1-3 each, before Kilcullen finished the half stronger, to take a 2-5 to 1-3 half-time lead.
The Rags then went on to dominate the second half to win by 4-10 to 1-4, and it could have been a bigger win only for an excellent performance from the Sallins keeper. In an all round good team performance by Kilcullen, best were Brian Mullins, Jamie Caplis, Jeremy Burke, Dean O’Neill and Aaron Dowling.
