Spencer to Referee County Final:
Congratulations to Kilcullen clubman Mick Spencer who will, for the second year running, take charge of the biggest game in Kildare football. Mick will be officiating between Moorefield and Allenwood in the Senior Football Championship Final this Sunday in Newbridge.

Guarding the Tiger:
Also, congratulations to Kilcullen Senior manager Garda Steve Kinneavey who was given perhaps the equally daunting task of guarding the competing Ryder Cup players as they made their way around the K-Club last weekend. A picture of Steve walking mindfully behind Tiger Woods makes the front page of this weeks Kildare Nationalist Sport supplement.

Semi-Final Defeat for Under 16's:
The Under 16's lost to Clane by 5-8 to 0-9 in the semi-final last night. However, the scoreline was not a fair reflection on the game as some of Clane's goals were very fortuitous indeed. There was quite a large contingent of Rags supporters in the stand in Clane yesterday evening, and they couldnt fault the young men in black and white for effort, in what were miserable conditions. Although they will be dissapointed by last nights result, they have done very well to get this far, with some impressive victories on the way, so credit must go to all involved.

Rearranged Under 16 Semi-Final:

Win for Ladies:
The ladies team beat Moorefield last night by 4-5 to 1-12. This is a more impressive win than the scoreline suggests as they were well in front for most of the game, but Moorefield piled on the pressure towards the end to come back within a few scores. However, Kilcullen held on and will now be hoping to follow up on this against Towers on Sunday.

Ladies Fixtures:
The following are the ladies fixtures over the next week involving Kilcullen:

Sun 10th Sept at 11am - Senior League Div 3 - Round Towers v Kilcullen.
Wed 13th Sept at 7pm - U13 League Div 3 - Ellistown v Kilcullen.

*P.S. It has been mentioned to me (Aidan) that the ladies fixtures havent been on this site in a long time, which is true. This is because they have not been in any of the local papers until the Nationalist this week, and that is where the fixture info comes from. If anyone knows the ladies fixtures every week, please email them to me at aidangleeson@gmail.com and I'll be glad to put them up. There are plenty of people who would go to these matches (including myself) if they knew when they were on.
