Seniors Narrow Loss:
Kilcullen lost by 0-11 to 0-10 in an entertaining game of football last night. Brian Bell was unfortunate to have his early penalty saved by the Allenwood keeper, and then Allenwood inspired by county star Johnny Doyle took off into a 5 points to 1 lead. However The Rags rallied and got back on level terms. The second half was very even but Kilcullen could never get their noses in front. And it was Allenwood who got the victory through good late points from David Hughes and Dermot Doyle, to put them 2 points clear. Substitiute Mick Williams got a consolation point for Kilcullen but it wasn't to be. Best for Kilcullen on the night were Fergus Aspell in midfield, and Shane Lambe in attack who had a great duel with John Wiltshire, while Cormac Aspells free-taking was top class.

Rags Face Relegation Battle:
Kilcullen look certain to go into the relegation group of Division 1 after another defeat last night. However, they can count count themselves very unlucky after doing so well to get back level in the dying minutes having been 7 points down at one stage. However Athy, got a goal with the last kick of the game.
Kicullen had started very poorly and Athy took off into a strong lead, but Kilcullen kept plugging away, despite a couple of players missing, and then both Tadhg Shanahan and Ronan Aspell having to be carried off with knocks. Also another player took it upon himself to walk off during the first half, further reducing Kilcullen's options. Best for Kilcullen on the night were the midfield of Fergus Aspell and Hook Kelly, and Paul Jones in attack.
Kilcullen Line-Up: Paddy Maher; T.Shanahan, R.Aspell, G.Shanahan(capt); T.Davis, J.Burke, C.Aspell(0-4); F.Aspell, M.Kelly; J.Lambe, B.Bell(1-0), J.Whyte(0-2); C.Barker, S.Lambe(0-1), P.Jones(0-4).

Towers come out on top:
Kilcullen Seniors lost out by 2-10 to 3-5 in an entertaining clash this evening in Kildare town. Led by Glen Ryan and the impressive TJ Waters, Towers took their chances better than Kilcullen. However Kilcullen (minus a few regulars) can take a good few positives from the game with Thomas Davis impressing at half back, and Shane Lambe in his first start since returning, outstanding in attack.

Kilcullen Line-Up: P.Maher; T.Shanahan, R.Aspell, J.Lambe; T.Davis, J.Burke, G.Shanahan(capt); M.Kelly, F.Aspell; C.Barker(0-1), B.Bell, J.Whyte; S.Lambe(2-1), C.Aspell(0-2), M.Williams(1-0).
