Minors Beaten:Hard luck to the Minor team who were beaten in the first round of the Championship by a single point tonight against St.Brendans.
Minor Championship:Best of luck to the Minor team who play St.Brendans this evening in the first round of the championship. The game takes place in Round Towers at 7.30pm.Senior League:Kilcullen have their last two games of the league in the next week. First up is a home fixture against Clane on Saturday night at home at 7pm. The next Tuesday the Rags travel away to Allenwood for a 7.30pm fixture. These are two tough games but hopefully one win will be enough to stay up. Ballymore and Confey have only one game left each which is against each other. Confey Win:The Seniors lost out to Confey last night by 2-11 to 1-9. Kilcullen were outstanding in the first half and were leading by 1-6 to 0-5 at half time, having scored 1-5 from play including a goal from Brian Bell. However, Confey took over and dominated the second half. Best for Kilcullen were Ronan and Cormac Aspell, Ger Shanahan, Brian Bell and Shane Lambe. Senior Fixture:The Seniors will be hoping to build on last week's good win over Ellistown when they travel to Confey this Friday Night at 7.30pm. Kilcullen were very unlucky not to beat Confey in the first stage of the league at home, and will be hoping for better luck this week against the current Leinster Intermediate Champions.Ladies Summer Cup:Next tuesday sees the start of the inaugaral Summer Cup which features all Senior, Junior and Intermediate Ladies teams in Kildare. The Ragettes face a tough task with a home fixture against current All-Ireland Junior Champions Eadestown next Tuesday night.VHI Cúl Camp:The annual VHI Cúl GAA summer camp will take place in the club from 9th to 13th of July, price per child is €60, application forms in information available from Sue Goulding (087-6564090) or Martin Whyte (086-8131797). Juniors Impress Again:Kilcullen Juniors recorded another impressive home victory last night, beating Maynooth by 3-16 to 2-7. The Rags started with a flurry of scores which Maynooth never recovered from, and from there went on to win easily. Best for Kilcullen were Mark Dooley in the backs, Alan Corcoran in midfield, Richie Galway and Ciarán Barker in attack, while early substitute Alan Murphy contributed a couple of sublime scores. Seniors Get Vital Win:The Seniors put an end their recent poor run with a good win over Ellistown on Friday night. Mick Williams set the tone for The Rags with an excellent early point. In fact the scoreline could have been even more convincing only for a couple of fortuitous Carbury goals. In a scrappy game, not helped by poor refereeing towards both sides, Monasterevin made the most of their scoring opportunities. Seniors Crucial Fixture:The Seniors face Monasterevin this Saturday evening at 6pm at home, as they strive to avoid relegation. Having had a couple of bad results recently, they will be anxious to get a win under their belts. However they are likely to be missing a number of players due to a wedding, holidays and injuries.Juniors Home Fixture:The Juniors will also be hoping to get their season back on track when they face Carbury at home on Monday night at 7.30pm.
Juniors Well Beaten:The Junior team, missing a number of key players went down by 1-15 to 1-5 away to Eadestown tonight. Eadestown looked a strong outfit and took their chances very well. Best for Kilcullen was Ian Kinsella who performed well in midfield. Allenwood Match Postponed:The Senior match due to take place tonight against Allenwood has been postponed again, due to hurling commitments of some of the Allenwood players.Congratulations:Congratulations to Senior Player Paul Maher who got married to Helena on Friday in Gormanstown Church with the reception afterwards in the impressive Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny. A great day and night was had by all. They depart for Dubai today on Honeymoon.
