Under 15 Fixture:Kilcullen Boys Under 15 team play away to Confey this Sunday morning at 11am in Division 2B.
Under 21s Defeat:The Kilcullen Under 21 team lost by 1-13 to 0-11 against Ballykelly in the first round of the Championship on Saturday. The Rags were pushing hard to get back into the game when Ballykelly got a last minute clinching goal. The Young Rags were missing a number of players for various reasons. Best for Kilcullen were Brian Bell, Darren Barker and James Burke.
Kilcullen Line-Up: B.Comerford; D.Hickey, C.Cullen, S.Burke; W.Hegarty, G.Kelly, D.O'Connor; J.Burke(0-1), D.Barker(0-2); A.Clarke, B.Bell(0-8), W.Jones; H.Barrett, C.Burke, C.Barker.
Last-Minute Heartbreak for Ladies:The first thing that has to be said about this match is what a great game of football was served up by both sides today at Round Towers. A real compelling contest, open attacking football with both teams enjoying sustained periods of dominance. The game was really there for the taking for both sides but in the end a last minute goal for Carbury sadly proved to be the decisive score.
Kilcullen enjoyed the best of the early exchanges but three late points in as many minutes saw Carbury go in at the break up by the bare minimum, 1-4 to 0-7. The second half was a score for score affair until Carbury went ahead with a fortunate goal midway through the half. But Kilcullen responded well and clawed back the vital scores to be a point up going into injury-time. However, when a 40-yard free was awarded to Carbury the draw looked likely, only for the ball to drop short and crushingly drop straight into the net. When Carbury tagged on another point from the quick restart, referee Fintan Barrett blew for full-time with the final score at 2-11 to 1-11.
While the manner of defeat is obviously disappointing, the girls should take great heart from the fact when the chips were down every player stood up to be counted and were never found wanting for either skill or effort. But then, therein lies the cruelty of knock-out football.
Ladies League Final:Kilcullen Ladies have a great chance to bring some much needed silverware to the club this Saturday when they play Carbury in the final of the league at Round Towers GAA Club in Kildare Town at 1.30pm. This section of the club has been going from strength to strength over the past few years and it was decided after much underage success to enter a ladies team in adult competitions last year. Now, in only their second year they have a great chance to claim a title. And if that wasn't enough, the game has added spice in that it was Carbury that eliminated the raggettes by a solitary point in the championship quarter-final a few weeks ago. After everything else that has gone on in the club this year it would be great to see the year finish with a trophy with a big turnout to support the girls on Saturday.Under 15 news:Kilcullen Boys Under 15 team lost to Castledermot last weekend by 1-14 to 2-6. Best for Kilcullen were Séamus Pembroke(2-1), Paul Bell(0-4), David Neill(0-1), Oran Inwood, Danny Fisher, Robert Whosiskey and John Caplis. They next play away to Round Towers this Sunday morning at 11am.

The discos are for 14-17 year-olds only and admission is exclusively by pre-paid ticket which can be bought at the Daybreak shop opposite the Cross & Passion College.
The tickets cost eight euros and the organisers insist that nobody will be admitted without such a ticket.

Under 21s Perform Well:Kilcullen Under 21s performed well in their challenge match against Two Mile House's first team, going down by 5 points. This was an encouraging display against a team who are flying in the Junior Championship.Under 15 Fixture:Kilcullen Under 15's have a home game against Na Fianna in Division 2B this Sunday morning at 11am.
