Club Championship Format Up For Debate:
The format for the draw in this year's club championship is up for debate at next month's county board meeting according to John Roddy's article in the Kildare Nationalist this week:

Keogh Cup Draw:
GROUP A: Rathangan, KILCULLEN, Castledermot and Nurney.
GROUP B: Ballyteague, St.Kevins, Eadestown and Johnstownbridge.
GROUP C: Castlemitchell, Raheens, Monasterevin and Kill.
GROUP D: Ballykelly, Sallins, Ballymore and Grange.

Round 1: 1 v 4, 2 v 3.
Round 2: 3 v 1, 4 v 2.
Round 3: 1 v 2, 3 v 4.
(First team named have home advantage - all matches played to a finish on the day)

Competition Gets Underway on February 9th.


Referees Wanted!:
Anyone interested in taking up the whistle can attend a Referee's course in Sarsfields on January 28th and 31st, February 5th and 7th.

Mascot For Kildare:
If anyone would like to nominate a child to be a mascot for one of Kildare's matches this year, please give the details to Martin Whyte or John O'Brien who will enter them in a draw at a county board meeting.

Transfer Deadline:
The deadline for submissions of Transfer requests is March 1st. The County Board will make it's decision by the end of the month.

Important Dates:
Here are some important dates on what will hopefully be a successful year for Kilcullen:

INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP:
ROUND 1: 2/3/4/5 July
ROUND 2: 6/7/8/9 August
ROUND 3: 21/22/23/24 August
QUARTER FINALS: 3/4/5/6 September
SEMI-FINALS: 17/18/19/20 September
FINAL: 5 October

***The Holiday period when no fixtures will be played is from July 20th to August 4th. The County Board have made it clear that no postponements will be sanctioned for holidays outside of this period.***

SENIOR LEAGUE DIVISION 1: Begins March 22nd.

MINOR LEAGUE: Begins February 10th.

MINOR CHAMPIONSIP: Begins July 9th.


Kilcullen Car Stickers:
All members this year will receive a Kilcullen GAA Car sticker with the club crest, "Kilcullen GAA Member 2008" and the website address on it. Any non-members who require can purchase one for €10.

And finally:
The County Board have confirmed that Jarlath Gilroy (son-in-law of the Kilcullen Lord Mayor) will serve another year as Kildare Minor Manager where he will be assisted by Ronan Quinn and John Sullivan.

Manager Confirmed:
The club have secured the services of former All-Star and All-Ireland finalist Karl O'Dwyer as manager of the Intermediate team for 2008. Karl had been managing Grange last year and will hopefully be able to utilise his wealth of experience from the very top level and help the club regain Senior status.

Kilcullen GAA Associate Members Draw:
This year the club is holding a members draw with €10,000 worth of prizes. Tickets will be priced at €50 a ticket. The fundraiser is essential for the club for finances for the year ahead.

Prizes are as follows: The first prize is €5,000, the second prize is €3,000 and the third prize is €1,000 and there are top ten prizes of €100 each. Tickets will be available from all Committee Members.

First Prize: Monster Christmas Hamper - June and Syl, Kingsgrove, Athy.

Second Prize: Turkey and Ham - Kieran Brennan.

Third Prize: Christmas Cake and a Bottle of Wine - Catherine Keogh.

Fourth Prize: Turkey and Christmas Pudding - Adam Phelan.

Fifth Prize: Botlle of Wine and Bottle of Whiskey - Dawn Maher.

Sixth Prize: Ham and Bottle Of Wine - Paul Maher.

Seventh Prize: Turkey and Bottle Of Wine - Irene Sheridan.
