Rags Survive:
Ten days ago Kilcullen looked doomed for relegation and with a tricky championship encounter against Eadestown, the season was in the balance. However, victory over Eadestown and a brilliant performance against Clane in the league thus ensuring Division 1 football for the 12th consecutive year, things are looking a lot rosier now.
A brilliant performance from Jamie Lambe scoring 1-5 from play was the platform for this victory. The return of Thomas Davis to midfield was also a huge boost.
The Rags led by 1-5 to 0-1 after 16 minutes, however Joe Gleeson and Eddie McCormack inspired a Clane fightback. Half Time score Rags 1-6 Clane 1-4.
Kilcullen shot out of the blocks after the interval and Clane had no answer as they could only tack on 2 points in the 2nd half.
Kilcullen had fine performance from Donal Droney, Brian Fox at the back, Thomas Davis in midfield and man of the match Jamie Lambe was ably assisted by Shane Lambe in attack.

Kilcullen Scorers: J.Lambe(1-5), C.Fox, P.Jones(0-2 each), J.Whyte, M.Williams, B.Fox, S.Lambe(0-1 each).

Minors March On in Championship:
The Kilcullen Minor team had a good win over Sallins in the first round of the Championship last night in Two Mile House. Some expertly taken goals in the first half gave the rags an early advantage from which they never looked back, winning with a final score of 3-6 to 1-8.

SFL Division 1 Relegation Battle:
The Senior team face Clane in their last game of the league, at home on Saturday, at 7pm. The Rags are currently in the relegation zone so a win is vital to our survival hopes. Juniors Draw With Larries:
Kilcullen Juniors played out a very entertaining draw with St.Laurences last night. The Rags were weakened by the loss of the Minors who are in championship action on Wedenesday, and a number of other players. However. they put in a strong performance to draw with an experienced St.Laurences side. In a very even first half, it was Laurences who were more accurate and held a 0-6 to 0-4 lead at half-time. However, Kilcullen's shooting was much better in the second half. The final score was 0-12 each. Thomas Davis was the outstanding player on the field, and a fine performance was reflected in the nine points he scored. Others to shine were Alan Clarke, Billy Joe Corocoran, Kevin O'Brien and Ian Kinsella.

Rags Over First Hurdle:
Kilcullen beat Eadestown this evening by 0-12 to 1-6 in the first round of the Intermediate Championship. The Rags took off to a flyer and were 0-3 to 0-0 up early in the game, before Emmet Bolton scored a well-taken goal for Eadestown against the run of play. This galvanised a very physical Eadestown side and it was fairly even for the rest of the half, with Kilcullen going in 0-6 to 1-2 up at the break. Kilcullen dominated the second half, and were up by 5 points with 15 minutes remaining. Eadestown then had a purple patch but Kilcullen held on to deservedly win by 3. Best for the Rags were Donal Droney who had a fine championship debut, Shane Lambe who was a constant thorn in the Eadestown defence despite being repeatedly fouled, Paul Jones and John Whyte. Substitute Darren Barker also made a telling impact in his first game back from injury.

Kilcullen Line-Up: Paddy Maher; M.Dooley, J.Burke, D.Droney; B.Fox, R.Aspell, Paul Maher(capt); M.Kelly, W.Kinsella; S.Lambe(0-2), M.Williams(0-1), C.Fox(0-2,2f); P.Jones(0-5,5f), C.Aspell, J.Whyte(0-1).

Championship Time:
The Championship is finally here with Kilcullen involved in both the Intermediate and Minor Championship in the next week.

In the Intermediate Championship, the Rags will be hoping to put some disappointing Senior League form behind them, when they face Eadestown.
